12TH ANNUAL AWARDS DINNER

Keynote Speaker: Professor Suzanne Goldberg, Director of Rutger's Womens' Rights Litigation Clinic.

At the dinner, community awards were given to the following for their unique contributions to members of the Stonewall community.

John E. Stephenson, Jr.:  lead attorney in the valiant effort in O’Kelley vs. Perdue, to overturn Amendment One, the “gay marriage” amendment.

Scott Titshaw:  for his role in developing and teaching a “Sexual Orientation & the Law” courses at University of Georgia and Mercer Law Schools, and for writing and spearheading the Georgia Law Professors’ Amicus briefs in the O’Kelley vs. Perdue litigation.

A special recognition to all the attorneys who actively litigated to overturn Amendment One in O’Kelley vs. Perdue: John R. Stephenson, Jr., and Jeffrey Swart, from Alston & Bird; Jack Senterfitt from Lambda Legal; Beth Littrell and Gerald Weber, from the ACLU.
