The Stonewall Bar Association and Schiff Hardin LLP will sponsor a panel discussion on the forthcoming Supreme Court decisions in
United States v. Windsor
Hollingsworth v. Perry
and their aftermath. The panel will discuss the decisions themselves, their impact on national and local litigation issues for the LGBT community, and how the decisions will impact estate planning for Georgia’s LGBT families. Panelists will include Susan von Herrmann of Schiff Hardin LLP, a national expert on same-sex couple estate planning; Professor Timothy Holbrook, Associate Dean of Faculty and Professor of Law at Emory University, who submitted an amicus curiae brief in
; and Beth Littrell, Staff Attorney in Lambda Legal’s Southern Regional Office, who has spent more than a decade working on LGBT legal issues for national civil rights organizations.
A reception will follow the program. CLE credit may be available, with more information to follow.
